Privacy Policy

VWG Consulting (“VWG”) is committed to protecting your personal privacy. This statement outlines how we collect, use and protect the personal information that you provide to us. VWG is bound by applicable privacy laws and all employees of VWG are expected to comply with this Privacy Statement.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

The contact forms on the website allow you to provide us with your contact details (name, surname, email address and telephone number) which we will then use to get in contact with you to provide information about VWG and the products and services we offer.

This website also provides the opportunity to apply for employment and as such the personal information that you provide to us in the application process will be stored and processed by VWG for the purposes of considering you for career opportunities within VWG. We may also collect information from public sources, educational institutions and other third parties such as former employers and referees to verify or add to information you have provided to us.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Links

This web site may contain links to other websites. Before disclosing your personal information on any link contained within the VWG website, we advise you to examine the privacy policies contained within those links.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Should you wish to update any of the information submitted through the website this can be done by either resubmitting the information through the website or sending an email to info@vwgconsulting.co.za . As an applicant for employment and if you become an employee you have certain rights in relation to the personal information held by us.

Use & disclosure of information

VWG is committed to ensure that personal information collected is only used for the purpose for which it was collected or any reasonable secondary purpose which includes compliance with applicable laws. VWG will always obtain your written consent before using your personal information for a purpose different to the purpose it was collected for.

VWG may collect statistics about the website and its users to assist us in ensuring our website remains relevant to users and provides a quality service to users. To evaluate our website a “cookie” (a data file that may be written to your computer by a website) may be used. VWG only collects anonymous operating system data such as domain, browser and IP address. No personal information can be viewed, and no data can be accessed on your hard drive or other storage facilities.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Consent

VWG obtains an anonymous record of visitors to this site which can be used for statistical analysis to allow us to optimize the website performance. However, throughout the website there are forms which allow you to provide data voluntarily which will be recorded and used for the purpose for which it has been provided. By the provision of this data you consent to its use as described in this privacy statement.
